Your route from the cruise ship usually looks like this:

  1. Tender boat from the cruise ship to the Old Port

  2. Cable car ride from the Old Port to the top of Fira

  3. Walk around 5–7 minutes to the taxi station or meeting point with our driver

  4. Transfer to your photoshoot location

Please note that during busy cruise days, the waiting line for the cable car can be very long. In some cases, the route from the cruise ship to the top of the cable car may take between 1 and 1.5 hours.

We strongly recommend leaving the cruise ship early and starting your route in advance.

This is where you can meet our driver before the transfer to the photoshoot location.

The drive from Fira cable car station to Imerovigli usually takes around 15–20 minutes depending on traffic or 40-45 min to Oia.


Water Taxi Option to Oia

For some cruise ship guests, we can also help organize a direct water taxi route to Oia.

This option is available when there are approximately 5–6 passengers interested in sharing the transfer.

The water taxi can be a very convenient and scenic way to avoid cable car queues and travel directly from the cruise port to Oia.

Availability depends on weather conditions and scheduling.

Best Photoshoot Locations for Cruise Ship Visitors

Oia is famous for:

  • blue domes

However, Oia is also:

  • the busiest village

  • more crowded during cruise ship hours

  • farther from the cable car station

If you have limited time on the island and do not specifically need the famous blue domes, Fira can be an excellent option for your flying dress photoshoot.

Fira offers:

  • beautiful caldera views

  • white architecture

  • easier access from the cable car

  • less transfer time

  • more flexibility for cruise schedules

For guests with short port stops, Fira is often the safest and most efficient choice.

Important Timing Information

Our standard flying dress photoshoot duration is:

  • 1 hour photoshoot

  • plus 15 minutes for dress changing or small delays

If guests arrive later than 15 minutes after the scheduled time, the photoshoot will continue for the remaining available time.

Additional shooting time may sometimes be possible depending on photographer availability and extra payment agreement.

Because Santorini cruise logistics can be unpredictable, we always recommend planning extra time for transportation and cable car queues.
